This month, Darkness to Light held its national child sexual abuse prevention conference, Ignite 2018. For its second year, the organization brought together professionals, researchers, and devoted individuals to strengthen the initiative and drive fresh ideas. HAND sponsored the event, which included two days of keynotes, advanced training, and breakout sessions.
The conference kicked-off with welcoming remarks from the organization's President and CEO, Katelyn Brewer, and a keynote on the use of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to create community change. Attendees then had the opportunity to choose from a variety of breakout sessions, including ways to protect children in the digital age, improving youth-serving organizations, and Hispanic community outreach. Guests of the event walked away empowered with greater knowledge and resources to combat child sexual abuse.
