Norooz at Schools

3/16/2021

In honor of Norooz and preparation for Spring, Diaspora Arts Connection is planning to serve Persian-influenced meals and desserts to the low-income students (K-12) in the Oakland and South Bay school districts on March 17 and 18. Ending food poverty and child poverty inspires us. We believe sharing food enables us to share our culture and heritage with people from different backgrounds. There will be a flyer attached to each lunch box describing the history of the Norooz in simple words.

Hanif Sadr, the founder of "Komaaj", will be making amazing meals, paired with wonderful pastries made by Sepideh Taraghi, the pastry chef at "Quince Bakery Studio".
