Pink Brigade Fights for Women’s Rights in India’s Rural Heartland

Meet Sampat Pal, the leader of a 400,000 all-female gang, called the Gulabi Gang. Based 350 miles south of New Delhi in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Pal and her brigade have one mission: to protect and fight for women's rights. With gulabi (pink) as their signature color, the gang have a network of women on the ground everyday to help members with any problems they have- maltreatment at the workplace, marital problems and even helping them set up their own small businesses.
